So I would like to go to a couple writer conferences next year and am looking for a couple suggestions. I've been to trade conventions. Is it like those?

It seems every conference is the greatest and will change your life.

How do I go about figuring out what conference would give me a broad experience / exposure?

Do I look for genre, fav authors, is there one that is a perennial mega one?

Hey Friend!

I haven't been to many, although I've been to Book Expo America and wouldn't recommend it from a writing perspective.

The ones I've wanted to go to include Clarion (depending on the teachers): http://clarion.ucsd.edu/2019-faculty/

And for funsies, I always thought Bizarro Con looks awesome. It's relatively cheap too! https://bizarrocon.com/
