Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to increase our efforts in the war against the sun. We’re planning key tactical advances in the coming months. We’re looking to up the game over at Solarcide, and plans are afoot for some fantastic updates in the near future.
We’re only just getting started.
But we need you, my stalwart warriors, to stand with us in this war. We need elite shock-troopers to spearhead our assault against the forces of Sol. We reckon you just might fit the bill.
Here’s the deal. We want Facebook followers and email subscribers. More and more of them. If you are already signed up then you know that we love you, and instead all we ask is that you help spread the news. Because there’s plenty of love left to go round , people, we are hopeless romantics. To sweeten the deal we have a couple of fantastic prizes we will send to a couple of our militiamen. A little competition, if you will.
First we have a wonderful main prize. Caleb J Ross, author of Stranger Will and I Didn’t Mean To Be Kevin, and interview guest over here at Solarcide, has agreed to send out a signed copy of his recent novella, As A Machine And Parts, to one lucky subcriber. This typographically altered adventure is a fast-paced and fascinating read, a grand addition to any collection. We are grateful to Caleb for letting us offer this. It’s a great book, people, (and did I mention it’s signed!) and all you have to do to be in with a chance for winning is ‘like’ our Facebook page or sign up as an email subcriber. Pretty cool, right?
Well there’s more.
As a special bonus, we’ll be drawing a second winner to recieve a runner-up prize. Nathan Pettigrew, our resident bald man and interview ninja, recenty electrified a good portion of his book collection and is now looking to give away a bundle of print titles to one fortunate subscriber. The contents of the book bundle is a secret, but the guy has great taste in authors so you can rest assured it will be something exciting.
Again, all you need to do to be in with a chance of winning the prizes is join our Facebook page or sign up as an email subscriber. We will be running this competition for two weeks from today (until Saturday 31st March) then we’ll be drawing our winners. We hope to see the ranks of the Solarcidal regiments swell in number over this time. We want to kill that firey bastard dead, as soon as we possibly can.
Get onboard, people, you know you want to.
Burn out the Sol!
Cheers, Chessie, you sexy mama.
Bump. Be liking that shit, peoples.
Also, if you want to check out a little info on the book that is being given away, then it was a book club pick at Litreactor here.
May I have a Caleb J Ross green apple poster?
Haha, send him an email, ask him how big a resolution he has the picture saved in. I'm sure he'll hook you up.
Bump. Got kinda buried in WAR threads.
Like the page people, or I am gonna come to your house and make horrible noises outside your window all night. Starting tonight.
So if you ever want to sleep again you'd better get a move on. Heh. And remember, there is an awesome signed book up for grabs! Not to mention Nath's mystery bundle.
I like it.
Oh Christ. The threats got me. I'll like it.
Ehn, we have brush-tail possums here. Horrible noises outside windows all night are the norm.
But I'll like you guys anyway.
Very cool. Cheers guys.
I like you guys. Come to my birthday party?
I already haz subscription, but will add it to my page.
I subscribed by email. Forgot to like it on facebook. I rarely check it. You guys got a Twitter? I usually follow that site more closely than other social networks.
Nath posts some stuff on Twitter, I believe. I don't have an account.
I'll ask him for username over there for you if you like.
Voodoo promised me a piece of his ponytail if I like him on facebook.
WickedVoodoo, are you Robin Hood?
@ Redvaughn - I realised you said you signed up for the emails. That will do it mate, you will get notifications of any updates that way. All good.
@ Danny - Hmm. You have heard of Samson right? The Classic Hairy Dude of Bilical Lore. Well if you take my ponytail, I'll never be able to write anything halfway decent again. You will be Delilah and I will then write nothing but Twilight fan fiction.
@ Panda - Maybe. Ssssh, I can't be bothered with the press folk coming round.
Only a few days left now.
Last day, people. If you ain't liked the page yet, then now is the time. C'mon, what ya waiting for? Don't make me send my flying monky soldiers after you.
Many thanks to everyone who liked us or signed up as subscribers. Even the people that loved us before the giveaway. You are all amazing. Also, many thanks to the people that re-linked our posts and helped spread the word.
After consulting our oracle (read random number generator) we have drawn winners. Without further ado.
Our main prize winner, who will get a signed copy of the novella As A Machine And Parts, by Caleb J Ross, is Stacy Kear.
Our runner up, who wins the mystery package from Nathan, is Kasey Carpenter.
Congrats, folks. Awesome stuff. We will be in touch with you soon to get those addresses and what-not.
Again, many thanks to everyone who has checked us out. It would be pointless without you guys.
