Yeah, Kenny sits pretty weird. I don't think he really has a preference in terms of the lady cats or the fella cats, but I know he has leg problems that prevent him from walking on hardwood floor sometimes. Poor thing.

Gamby and Kenny need to hang out.

The currently disassembled Rape Dungeon.

It is miles better than it was a month ago, used to be piles of broken electronics and a stray mattress in the middle of the floor.

This is the area the lounge will be one day, need to fix that futon frame really bad, tape down the carpet (found it outside my house for FREE!)

Next we have the in-prog-nito jam space area (building a stage out of old pallets, just need to invest in some plywood and throw an old rug on it and then the instruments will be saved when the moisture sneaks in this spring...

And continuing to the left, Art Studio/sewing room. Which will take up 90% of the long wall. lots of junk to get rid of still, and tons of rearranging, but it's not just a garbage heap anymore, which is awesome.

OH yeah, and this is my tiny kitchen. it doesn't look that small in the picture, but keep in mind i am almost in the oven taking the picture. Also the colour combination is terrible. Burgundy does not go with "light blue with fake wood grain and infinite stains". Also, if you inspect the hinges, someone has painted them PURPLE. not a matching burgundy, but flat out, PURPLE. doesn't show up well in photos. but it's pretty horrid. Still, I've made many a delicious cheesecake in there. so I shouldn't complain.

and for good measure, my living room (when i'm not busy in the rape dungeon):

and one last one... Angus in his royal throne.

Haha thanks, its an Angelina Wrona print I found super cheap at the flea market. She's hugely popular in Canada right now. Half my bedroom is a painting of hers, too. Love me some depressing girly art.

I also like your pink headphones, your cat, and your face.

Sometimes that pillow makes me hungry. I thought I was crazy. Maybe it's kismet. The pink headphones aren't mine, they're the kids, they're just sound dampeners I got at the gun range, that way she can play drums with me. :)

Now that you point it out I can see they're gun range sound dampeners, near a guitar it made me think studio headphones.Haha.

@Kelly:

Thanks for that AWE-SUMB home tour. Shit you have some space to play with. Basements are a huge bonus, especially for loud musicians. Great idea, the pallets for moisture.

In-prog-nito.

Awesome rape dungeon. Who wouldn't want to get raped down there?

Actually galley kitchens are one of the best, most efficient kitchen designs. No wonder they use them on boats. They can be really small and still function wonderfully. That blue is awesome though. I actually use that color quite a bit. Not with burgundy though.

Your kid beats the drums? Cool.

And that print is tits. Love that.

Gamby wants to talk to Angus now too.

Okay. I swear I am shooting more pics today. You've inspired me.

Profunda Saint-Sylvain's picture
Profunda Saint-... from Calgary, AB is reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series April 17, 2012 - 11:57am

Yeah the pallets seem like a good idea, problem is now that they're all laid down none of the heights match. Sigh. I'll figure it out. doesn't have to be perfect, the stage is just getting usedfor instrument preservation, rehearsal and the odd house party. ;)

The mini-kitchen I love when I'm alone. As soon as you have 2+ people putting a dinner together or in my case, when the band bakes our merch, it gets awfully crowded and hard to function in. I'm not big on light blue since moving into this house. my bedroom was sky blue pink with little yellow dots when I got it. It was horrendous to sleep in. Painted it over with battleship grey and white(ish) trim. Now I sleep all monotone like a silent movie queen.

So cool!! I am getting mine a junior drum set. She found a set at an event we were at and for a 2 y/o seems to have a pretty natural proclivity for them. I hadn't thought of getting sound dampeners...I wonder if she'll still need them on a smaller set?

Profunda Saint-Sylvain's picture
Profunda Saint-... from Calgary, AB is reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series April 17, 2012 - 1:32pm

Small kits don't have nearly as high a decibel as a full kit. Probably won't need them. Josie mostly has them because she likes to hang out during rehearsals and i drag her to All Ages shows whenever I can. Guitar Feedback and little ears is a bad combo.

Those little sets are so ridiculously cute. I have a super cheap set for her, but they're not as cool as just the shrunk down real kits. One day.

Dear Santa,
Please bring me one (1) disposable income. I've been very good...

See, I'm the opposite, I can't keep rhythm to save my life, so I have no drums of my own. The junior kits are much cheaper than the full ones, so that's what she is getting.

Profunda Saint-Sylvain's picture
Profunda Saint-... from Calgary, AB is reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series April 17, 2012 - 2:00pm

I totally typed kitts every time and then had to change it. I think maybe we spend too much time together. ;)

I used to drum a bit, not so much any more. The kid inherited her drumming ability from her dad, luckily (which I'll never admit when he's in earshot). She's still too young for lessons, I'm pretty sure all toddlers come with built in ADD.

Sl-o-w-ly but surely?

So I blew my upper back out (nothing new) doing the crown mouldings and figured since I cant work, I better catch you guys up on the bathroom project. Also, my usb cable broke and, well...

So. Here goes. Remodeling Gauntlet. This project is going to put me in my grave. Thank godlings carpenters have eternal life.

Above is kinda the before. The place has the bones. Only they are buried. Like the door knobs:

And even the door. Trust me, we can rebuild her. Better. Stronger. Faster. It may cost six million dollars, but hell, it is worth it, right?

Below is the culprit. Culprits like to look all non-chalant, but they will fuck you no less.

This turned into, well, a scab. Nice linoleum, eh?

Daddy's little helper. He always knows how to run power tools, but he was on break. His sandpaper tongue is ideal for finishing wood.

Radiant heat. We pulled this and sandblasted it. I need to powdercoat it.

Here, I was about to spray texture:

Shaping up a bit. But not enough. Med cab for cutie below...

Improved a tad below:

Framed this recycled mirror to mimic the old original, dropping a hint of modernity:

Oh, and painted and added some moulding. Blink. Genie.

And so here we are, well, when my back blew its shorts:

I can't wait till this whore is done.

Oh man I am jealous of your bathroom, and am sure to grow more jealous as you pretty it up!

Our stuff is on hold. We have a large sum of money tied up with the IRS (funny how long it can take when they owe YOU money) and our contractor's mother died. So...yeah. All the appliances are installed and working, but we're still working with the old counter and cabinets, haven't started painting, etc.

And we need to hurry to get our windows replaced before it really starts sweltering...so...thanks IRS...thanks.

Hmmm. HGTV? Nah, too much work.

Raves for the Queen (and bathing in the soon to be installed clawfoot) done.

Ren Daubler: That is par for the course. Like I said, my back is blown. Really. All I can do is drink and watch basketball.

Lisa: Okay. I am very reasonably priced. But I only take on creative projects. In other words, I have been known to throw a fit if my clients won't submit to using, for example, a polished chrome finish on a distinct project. On another it may be a certain I don't know what. On another it might have nothing to do with anything other than how much I adore the client. I love working with people I love.

Rachel, I thought we discussed this. Size does not matter. (TM?)

More pics coming hopefully. Oh, and a video where I got drunk and sang while I was spray texturing.

Your turns.

Just take a picture of your favorite object. Toys? Dolls? Rapid Rabbits?

They have the green home giveaway currently, the house is nice, but I want the money. In the fine print it says you can take away $538,000 instead of the prizes and house.

Needless to say I've been entering twice daily for like 2 months and daydreaming about traveling the world and opening the first ever major record label that doubles as a publishing house.

My dreams are big.
