Okay. I will wait.
These are all so great. I really like Angel, Afterlife and Jack?
So I guess I will have to look at the Results?
I hate doing that.
Or I could just vote and let the dice fall and then Nathan could break it if there is still one after that?
Afterlife is so funny and borderline bizarro.
Angel is sci-fi but organic sci-fi, which I really enjoy.
Jack? Is a bit spooky and unpredictable, also obscure.
But this is not to say I didn't enjoy War and Gulls. Gulls achieves a lot with brevity--very challenging--whoever wrote that get your ass to the Flash Main Page 250 word gig if you haven't already.
War is very palpable--realism. And the writing is exceptional.
So, fuck. Always hard to call. I will brood and brood.
I think I want that Van Gogh ear, though. I want to tell it something.
Ooooooh! This should prove interesting down to the wire. Votes comin' in from DOWNUNDAH!
So it looks like a lead has broken.
Still very interesting though, people:
- First prize is six months of Workshop AND story published in SOLARCIDE
- Second prize is a Hawthorne Book
That means that tight second place race up there is the one to watch, but first place is still doable!
Congrats to the victors! An excellent Flash month with exceptional entries. Also, thanks to everyone who thought Angel was their second favorite. While I knew I wasn't going to win when I read the entries, I'm glad people had enough positive feedback to mention it. I just may blow that out to a 5,000 worder as I had to trim 500 from it for the contest.
Damn, I loves me some Flash!
Great Job guys. Great stories. Damn, Profunda has been in a number of these. And Covewriter is getting on a roller with a couple of great appearances.
Fritz, that is probably my favorite piece of yours yet.
And Danny, I actually picked yours as my favorite of the bunch.
Bill, I think you should expand that. And I wouldn't judge the quality based on 'votes' because I think Angel is innovative and original.
So Fritz will now have to get his ass in the Workshop for six months--I will get you activated.
Danny, PM me your book choice from Hawthorne Books and I will shoot it up North. Oh, and your address.
Thanks to everyone who participated and like Martin said, hit the Flash Eggstravaganza, it is 250 words.
