@J.Y. I appreciate the challenge offer and wish I could join you in battle but I just have too much on my plate right now so I'll have to respectfully decline. 'd like to take a rain check though.  Maybe a few weeks down the road.

I'm being of very little help here, seeing as waiting around twiddling thumbs is the primary activity and bureaurocrazy is making funeral arrangement next to impossible at the moment - and even if it wasn't we can't have one till family is here from overseas which is another bureaucratic cluster fuck at the moment - so it looks like I might as well use my time writing.

Renfield, if you're still interested in our battle, how about I get something to you by tomorrow night, then you can make the poll. Is that ok? If you don't want to go ahead with this, I totally understand.

Also, I forfeited my battle with Emily, so no girl fight this week): I passed out after school and totally missed the deadline.

@J_my: So due on monday the 29th, "100,000" word limit. Already sparring...

Though I have a tendency to overwrite at times, a novel ain't happening by the 29th. Otherwise, cool with me. Good luck.

Incidentally, since this is my first Thunderdome battle, who do I send the story to or where do I post when it's done? Also, will the fact that my subscription expired a few weeks back have any affect on this? Just don't want to waste anyone's time.

So I really love the last two prompts that Renfield posted. I challenge thee "anyone who accepts" to a flash Thunderdome battle 500-1000 words on the picture with the Masked shotgun holder. A four day battle. Anyone game?

Also,

I so want that picture of the woman jumping in the bakery to be a THunderdome battle as well. Any two takers?

I'm headed to St. Louis on Thursday for the Books and Booze meetup and won't be back home until a week from Sunday, maybe if I have time after that, Or if you want to, maybe you can find someone else to do the lady one with you sooner. I really want to read those stories!

Working on something currently, but think a little healthy competetion wouldn't hurt either!!!!

If you guys don't currently have memborships and don't want to run it through the workshop first you can do what seems to be popular in thunderdome battles these days and one of you can post an anonymous poll. If you guys don't know how to, I can tell you or you can send the stories to me and I'd do it for ya. Anyway, good luck. That prompt looks ridicuoulously hard. I'm imagining Full-Metal Jacket meets Rambo meets M.A.S.H.

I am down gents and we'll hold off a week submitting a final in honor of Books and Booze in St. Louis next weekend. So final due on the 29th. 25k limit. No review process? Just a final?

Tough prompt Ren, but I'll make it work. I did a War prompt once before against Averydoll, ages ago. I want to say it was about kids or something? I remember using a lot of similies. It didn't go well.

Actually, I do have a sick idea for this prompt, but I worry that not even 5k words may be enough to pull it off.

I thought it was a tough photo too, but it obviously wants to be a fiction. There's enough going on there that I'm sure some liberties can be taken without losing that there gestalt of it. I just need some good stories to read in my life currently."

Good luck yourself! 2500 words! I suppose a novella would be alright, but yeah, no. Haha

@Matt: I don't plan to take mine too literally, and neither should you if you don't feel it's right. I think on these you should write enough that a reader can see how you were inspired by the prompt. If a character just mentions that he used to be a combat medic, even if you're telling a romantic tale, that's enough for me.

A storm has knocked out my WiFi and 4g. I was able to drive up the rode but its out at mcdonalds and starbucks too. I was able to post this from my phone but I can't access my emails right now. My story is done and if the storm clears before midnight central time(3 hours from now) I hope to have the poll up in time. If not it may be morning before I can post it.
