I'm looking for a tablet/e-reader that's good for comics. It's gotta be fairly large, and I'm not looking for app-based reading where the app guides you through the comic, panel by panel.

Anyone doing this currently who has some advice?

I have a Amazon fire and read hardy boy comic books all the time

I use an iPad Pro (the 12"), but travel with an iPad Air 2.

I regularly read comics via the iBooks or the ComiXology app (ComiXology is owned by Amazon, and designed to provide a better comic book reading experience than the standard Kindle app). I find both apps to be excellent. Neither force you to navigate panel by panel, although the ComiXology does provide this functionality, if required.

In both apps, the resolution is really decent and does not pixilate, even when zoomed into a smaller panel.

At UK pricing, the cost of content is pretty similar across ecosystems and compares favourably with dead-tree versions.

I'd recommend either app. Both work well on both the iPad Pro, and the Air.
