I actually joined the site last month but just recently discovered this introductions forum. That being said:

Hello all!

My name is Christine and I am a writer. I can't really pin it down to what specific kind I am because I've dabbled in many genres of writing. Writing is such an isolated activity (well, for me it is anyway) that I'm hoping to meet a few people here and share all things related to the written word.

I look forward to chatting and working with ya'll!

Christine =)

Hi Christine. I'm new here too and it seems like this is a very welcoming and free place to hang out. I don't have a specific kind of style either; frankly I'm not sure what they all mean. For me, writing, like music, is either good or bad.

Welcome Christine! I see you're reading some Alan Campbell! The Scar Night series kind of dragged for me by the end of the series, but have you read Sea of Ghosts yet? It is fantastic. He is an amazing world builder.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

@Jeffrey: I've enjoyed the series so far. It's definitely had it's lackluster moments but I think his characters and worlds are really cool and creative. I keep hoping that Carnival or Devon will make an impactful resurgence because I think they were really strong characters in the first book. I haven't read Sea of Ghosts yet but it's next on my "to-buy" list.

Welcome to the jungle, Christine. Tell us a bit more about who you like to read, what you're writing. Are you publishing? I have a column here, Storyville, maybe it'll help.

Hello Christine!  We hope you enjoy our cozy little home.  We try to keep it tidy here, so please pick up after yourself.  Sometimes give Dwayne a doggie biscuit (he's actually a highly intelligent Springer Spaniel with Asperger's syndrome).

Ummm...

Not much else...

What part of Texass do you live in?  I'm trying to put together a kinda street gang kinda thing in the DFW area.  Are you any good at graffiti?

You guys (and gal) are certainly a welcoming bunch. =)

I read a lot of Neil Gaiman. He's my absolute favorite author. I got to meet him in Dallas back in June and it was an incredible experience getting to hear him speak and read excerpts from some of his books. I also really dig David Mack, Anne Rice, Serena Valentino, Jonathan Hickman, Stephanie Meyer (don't judge me!) and Steve Niles to name a few. I have an English degree which means I also enjoy reading really old stuff by dead people.

I'm currently writing a sci-fi/action comic book story. It's been a challenge to write this story and to try to implement the technical aspects of the comics medium into the script. No matter! I know this story is meant to be told in this medium so I will not give up!

I have published a few journalistic articles for my job but nothing pertaining to my fiction stories. I'm hoping to change that via this site.

Sorry Utah, I'm an Austinite. Good luck with your graffiti street gang though! Hope to see pics floating around of your work. =D

Well, goddamnit.

Fine.

Keep it weird.

You're not somehow affiliated with that big, orange university that's down there, are you?

Keepin' it weird is what I do.

Nope, no affiliation with the longhorns. Are you originally from Austin, Utah?

I'm not.  And I am relieved you are not a longhorn.

Hi Christine. Welcome. I've found the isolation of writing also to be a bit of a bummer and have found this site to be the perfect antidote to that problem. Good Luck.
